Disney

One of my coolest gigs was working down in North Hollywood at Disney Online. The project was a joint venture with Walt Disney Imagineering. It was a multiplayer game, that was shown at Disney World in Epcot center. After the game was completed I worked with the WDI team on the WDI website and a programming game for kids.

The WDI group was headed by Alan Kay who was a fellow there at the time. He created an opensource programming environment called squeak. One neat feature of the game was that we had an effect that made it appear to be 3D using only 2D graphics. We created the path for 2D objects to move on a perspective path, and faded the background. It really worked wonderfully well.
